About Us
We are a locally-owned and family-run GP practice that was founded by Dr Kenny Clark FRACGP and opened its doors in Townsville in July 2016.
The GPs that consult from our clinic are independent, running their own medical business. Our family-run GP practice provides the exceptional services that are required by those GPs so that the GPs can offer our patients the highest level of primary care.
With a strong focus on health promotion and disease prevention, the team provides evidence-based medicine and personalised care. As a fully accredited clinic, we strive for excellence in general practice and we strive to improve the health of individuals, families and our community.
We are a family practice and cater for all health needs, at any stage of life – from birth to aged care. We also specialise in managing chronic conditions, including diabetes.
A 'patient-first' approach helps the doctors to provide the highest quality of personalised and comprehensive care for the whole person - not just the disease. The team of independent GPs are supported by a team of specialist nurses and allied health practitioners with the training, knowledge and competence to deliver COMPLETE primary health care for the entire family.
WHAT IS A GP?
A General Practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who treats acute and chronic illnesses and provides preventive care and health education to patients.
The Family & The Diabetic GP Clinic has a team of highly experienced male and female vocationally registered medical doctors who pride themselves on delivering quality, comprehensive medical care to our patients and their families in an environment that is professional and patient focused. They are Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and keep up to date in the latest technologies and therapies.
Our practitioners are highly experienced in all areas of General Practice, catering for all health needs of all women, men and children in the region.
GPs continue to be a patient's primary source of care; they are responsible for coordinating a patient’s medical care and management, instigating a course of treatments, reviews to incorporate any developments and lifestyle changes, and provide referrals to appropriate specialists or other health professionals. They are also the key to ensuring all necessary members of the primary care team are informed and up to date on each patient's progress.
The GPs & our Clinic’s team of nurses and support staff are all working just for you, and we're listening..
